FAQ
What is Riptide Romance?
Riptide Romance is a SFW My Hero Academia zine centered around the love between the characters Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku. The zine's theme is anything and everything mermaids! We have decided to take a broad interpretation of "mermaids" in order to allow as much creative freedom as possible, however. Any sort of aquatic-humanoids are welcome!
Is this zine for-profit?
Yes, this zine will be for-profit should interest be high enough.
How will contributors be compensated?
At minimum, every contributor will receive a digital bundle of the zine! If the zine breaks even, then every contributor will receive a full physical bundle. If the zine does exceptionally well, then any net profits will be distributed evenly amongst all contributors and mods!
Is this project SFW or NSFW?
The main zine, Riptide Romance, will be SFW, but per interest and contributor availability, we would like to offer a free 🔥 digital add-on as well.
Will there be moderator applications?
Yes! Moderator applications for the position of Graphics and Formatting Mod will be coming soon should we not fill the position prior. Please follow our socials or check back for an updated schedule.
Can moderators create for the zine?
In order to reserve as many spots for contributors as possible, moderators will not be creating for the physical zine. They will be able to create for the free add-on, however!
How many contributors are you accepting through applications?
Through applications, Riptide Romance will accept a minimum of:
🧡 7 writers
🧡 13 page artists
🧡 3 merch artists
Will you have guests?
Yes, we will have guests!
Can minors participate?
Unfortunately, since this zine is for-profit with a potential 🔥 add-on, all applicants must be 18+ when they apply.
Can applicants apply for more than one position?
Yes, however, applicants will only be accepted for one position.
How will this zine be organized?
This zine will be split into three sections. Tropical Oceanic, Cold Water Oceanic, and Freshwater. Applicants will be able to indicate which section they prefer during applications, and contributors will be assigned to one or more sections. Once assigned to a section, contributors will be asked to create a work which fits their section.
What content is not allowed in this zine?
NSFW content will be restricted to the free digital add-on, but the following content will be completely restricted:
- Major character death
- Underage explicit sexual content
- Toilet play (scat/piss/vomit)
- Noncon (dubcon will be allowed on a case-by-case basis)
- Age regression
- Bestiality (monsterfucking is allowed on a case-by-case basis given the nature of the zine.)
This is not a moral judgement. No applicant will be penalized for what they have created outside the zine!
Is this zine proship?
Yes. Although the main zine is SFW and there are restrictions on the add-on content, this zine is a proship space.
